Krystal Smith

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC).

Growing up I realized that whether I was volunteering or working I was always drawn towards a particular field of interest, helping others. The best part of what I do is to be able to see the change, growth, and healing that comes from therapy and in helping individuals to be their best self and feel empowered.

I have worked with individuals from different economic and cultural backgrounds and different age groups. I have experience in working with individuals presenting with a range of issues including: depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, stress, substance use, co-occurring, relationship issues, self esteem, coping skills, women’s issues, men’s issues, and legal issues. I have worked in different behavioral health settings including outpatient mental health treatment, inpatient psychiatry, and outpatient and residential substance abuse treatment. I utilize an eclectic blend of therapy methods some of which include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Strengths-Based Therapy. Rather than apply one methodology to all clients, it is my belief that every individual is different and therefore therapy should be individualized. My approach is tailored to meet your needs in an environment where you can feel safe and comfortable.

I am passionate and committed to the work I do with my clients. My experience has taught me how fulfilling and rewarding therapy work can be in helping you find inner peace and satisfaction in your life.
